Further new acquisitions will be exhibited, together with other stock available at discounted prices. Remaining items from the Potts' Collection will also be on display.
The Sussex Show, Saturday 14th November proved as successful and enjoyable as ever despite every effort by the weather to disrupt visitor attendance. Excellent displays of Zeolites formed the central feature of the show, though the new display cabinets and LED lighting on Keith Corrie's stand attracted as much attention. These set a new standard for exhibitors and the high quality specimens looked stunning. Crystal Classics once agasin had some mouthwatering items including many old time British pieces from the Philadelphia Academy Collection. Brian Lloyd had an excellent bournonite from Herodsfoot which sold very quickly whilst Mike Brooke of Broadstone Minerals sold the large rutile crystal from Graves Mtn., which featured in Jolyan Ralph's MIndat report of the Bakewell Show. Mike Merry, as usual, had a wide range of Cornish specimens including several fluorite pieces. I managed to pick up a small pyromorphite from Wheal Rose for my own collection. All in all an excellent show, very well organised, and certainly maintaining its position as one of the two most important mineral shows in the UK Calendar. A not to be missed event.
I apologise for the lack of photos as my camera failed me for the first time ever. But check out Mindat for a more detailed account.
