Hampshire Mineral Show: once again this small but friendly showed proved a success and the organisation was a credit to Southampton Club members. The focus of displays this year was an illustrated tribute to the late Jim Goulding who had devoted many years to the club and show. Although there are only a few mainstream mineral dealers in regular attendance, for example, Richard Tayler, Mike Gough and Mike Brooke there is always an array of specimens to tempt the most resilient of collectors and prices to suit all pockets. As usual the morning session was the busiest whilst the afternoon allowed friends to catch up with gossip and mineral news. For the species collector Richard Tayler had an assortment of rare minerals recently acquired at Sainte Marie whilst club member and geologist Rob Bowell had some excellent and extremely rare micromount. Mike Gough had his usual high quality miniatures available whilst Mike Brooke of Broadstone Minerals presented a number of excellent Cornish specimens including olivenite, bournonite and chalcocite. If you didn't attend this year then make a note for next year: this show is not to be missed.

There are still many good specimens available from the Potts Collection.
